My Background

I am a  Registered Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist. I discovered Chinese Medicine through my passion for edible and medicinal native plants. After years of self study and having grown up in the bush learning about herbology, I craved a more comprehensive medical approach. I found it in Chinese Medicine!

I received my Diploma of Acupuncture from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in 2012 after four year of study in both acupuncture and herbal medicine. I have also completed an additional two years in the Doctoral Program at Pacific Rim College.

I currently provide care through my clinic and herbal dispensary in the historic Duncan Garage building, in downtown Duncan.

As well as running my own clinic and dispensary in Wolfville NS, I served as Director of Standards of Practice on the board of the CMAAC-NS (Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Assoc. of Canada) and worked to bring the professional standardization of Chinese Medicine to Nova Scotia.

I have also enjoyed the rewarding experience of  teaching Internal Medicine at the College of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Halifax Nova Scotia.

I also hold a Diploma of Social Work from Grant MacEwan University, and have worked for many years as a counsellor and community  advocate. I bring these supportive skills and training to my current clinical practice.

My Approach

Fallows = Grounded

My style is equal parts Practical  and  Holistic.

I believe strongly in the ability of Chinese Medicine to help and heal. Everything "natural" however, is not necessarily healthy. I can help you navigate the fad products and new popular diets so you can avoid harm, and find what is healthy for your unique situation.

I enjoy an integrated approach to medicine and feel that Chinese Medicine works well when intelligently balanced with western medicine. Some people think they have to choose one over the other. I believe that balance and consistency is the key.

The motto of my school of Chinese Medicine is "Through oneself, know others". I have a rich life experience that grounds my clinical practice to share and help connect with my patients. I continue to delve deeper into Chinese Medicine, considering it a lifelong pursuit and calling.
